Runic Discs supply stats and build effects in Stella Sora. Each Ascension Record can use up to three Main Discs and three Support Discs: Main slots apply the Disc’s Melody and Harmony Skills, while Support slots supply starting Musical Notes and do not apply those skills. Plan the Main effects and their note requirements together.

A Disc’s position changes what it contributes
Main and Support slots in a Record
Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen.
| Position | Contribution | Selection purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Main — up to three | Stats plus applicable Melody and Harmony Skills | Choose effects that support the team’s element and playstyle. |
| Support — up to three | Stats and starting Musical Notes; no Melody/Harmony Skills from that slot | Help activate the Main Harmonies and supply useful stats. |
The Record retains the Disc setup selected at the beginning of the run, and those Main effects apply in activities using that Record. A Support Disc with an attractive Melody description does not apply that Melody merely because it occupies one of the six slots.

Melody is the constant effect; Harmony needs notes
In the captured reference, a Melody Skill is always active when the Disc is used in a Main slot. Harmony Skills require a specified Musical Note setup. The starting notes from Support Discs help meet that requirement, and additional notes acquired in Ascension develop the run’s Harmony setup.

Read the element and bonus tags under a Disc’s name. The reference’s Lux / Support / Mark example identifies effects aimed at Lux Support Skills and Mark interactions. Those tags help check a fit; they do not mean every Lux Disc improves every Lux build equally.
Level, tier and Crescendo are separate upgrades
- Level increases the Disc’s two stat bonuses. The captured maximum is level 90.
- Tier-up materials open the next ten-level band. Disc tier can also change the starting Musical Notes it supplies; the exact distribution depends on the Disc’s rarity and acquisition type.
- Crescendo increases the effectiveness of the Melody Skill through duplicates. The reference lists a maximum of VI, reached with five additional copies beyond the first.
A duplicate’s Melody improvement is therefore mainly a Main-slot consideration, while a Support-slot comparison also needs its stats and note distribution. Check what the intended slot actually uses before treating a Crescendo upgrade as the best choice.
A short check before the next Ascension
Choose the Main effects, read their note requirements, then use Support Discs that help those requirements. Compare the actual starting notes at the Disc’s current tier. If you change the intended damage type or team, revisit that setup rather than keeping an old configuration solely because its Discs have a higher rarity.
See the build framework for how Disc notes and Potentials fit into a saved Record.
If you are spending a selection item, identify its exact pool in the Rainbow Disc Pack selector guide before comparing individual effects.
