For Stella Sora’s original standard-pool starter choice, Nazuna and Gerie are a useful pair to work toward rather than two interchangeable winners. Choose the one missing from that pair if you want a Terra Mark team; if you already have both, choose for a specific missing team job instead. This recommendation concerns the original starter choices, not the anniversary recruitment selector or every limited five-star.
Original Global starter/standard-pool decision, using the supplied selection discussion and documented team relationships. Anniversary balance changes and anniversary-selector eligibility are outside this comparison.

Identify which selection you are making
Opening Act and a five-star selector are different decisions. The captured recruitment reference describes Opening Act as 200 free attempts, taken in ten-pulls, with up to five results saved and one result chosen. A selector chooses from the items it explicitly lists. A limited Trekker being strong does not make that Trekker eligible for the original starter pool.
The comparison here covers Nazuna and Gerie as a Terra pairing, then Freesia, Minova, Chixia, Mistique and Nanoha as original-pool alternatives to inspect for an existing team. It is a decision aid for those choices, not an exhaustive claim about every selector issued later. Read the name and eligible list on your own item before confirming.

Choose for a team you can actually assemble
Starter decision by the account’s missing job
Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen.
| Your account | Useful direction | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Nazuna owned; Gerie missing | Gerie completes the key pair for the documented Nazuna / Gerie / Tilia Mark setup. | The team still needs its Potentials and a suitable Record; owning the pair is not a complete build. |
| Gerie owned; Nazuna missing | Nazuna supports that same Terra plan. | A support choice does not replace an on-field configuration or every missing elemental damage dealer. |
| Neither owned | Keep a result containing one of the pair and consider using the other starter opportunity for the missing partner. | This commits the early selection to one team rather than expanding elemental coverage. |
| Both owned | Look at the other team you intend to build, or keep an unused selection until the missing job is clear if the item permits it. | A duplicate is a narrower upgrade than adding a missing option; its value depends on the actual Talent unlocked. |
The basis for the Terra recommendation is a concrete team interaction, not a universal score. The original community selection discussion weighs Gerie’s damage against Nazuna’s support utility, while the original build collection documents Nazuna setting up before Gerie’s Support Skill. The partner and Potential requirements are why a single-character ranking is a poor substitute for deciding what your account lacks.
When another starter is the more useful choice
A different starter can be preferable when the Terra pair is already covered or when you are building around a Trekker you enjoy. Freesia belongs to Aqua, Minova to Lux, Chixia to Ignis, Mistique to Umbra and Nanoha to Ventus in the captured roster. Use that to identify the relevant team, then inspect the character’s actual job and partners before spending the selection.
Element alone is not enough to call a choice optimal. A main damage option, a Support Skill contributor and a buffer can occupy different jobs even within one element. This page therefore does not rank all five alternatives against one another or predict which will survive future balance updates.
If you already own a candidate, compare the specific duplicate Talent with the new team enabled by a missing character. The supplied original selector discussion contains both coverage-first and support-first opinions; neither establishes a universal rule to spend a selector immediately or to chase duplicate starters.
The Nazuna Mark recipe explains the specific team interaction behind that pairing.
