AT A GLANCE

A Stella Sora build combines a three-Trekker lineup, its permanent upgrades, the Potentials chosen during Ascension and up to three Main plus three Support Discs. The resulting Record saves the run’s configuration for modes that use Records. Choose the job first: a high Record level and a team that performs well against a particular boss are different goals.

Core build relationships from the captured Disc reference and original player/creator records. Character examples retain their historical source scope; this is not an anniversary damage ranking or a universal best build.

Plan Main skills and Support notes together

Main Discs supply their Melody and Harmony Skills to modes using the Record. Support Discs supply starting Musical Notes; their own Melody and Harmony Skills do not apply from those slots. Pick the Main effects needed by the team, then choose Support notes that help activate those Main Harmonies.

The captured Disc reference distinguishes a Melody Skill that is always active from Harmony Skills activated by the required note setup. Some older beginner prose reverses those labels. Read the actual skill name and slot effect rather than assuming that a Disc’s strongest listed skill works from a Support slot.

Disc level also changes its stat bonuses, and Disc tier can change the starting notes it supplies. A low-rarity or off-element Support choice therefore needs a slot-specific comparison; a rarity badge alone does not settle which configuration supports the Main Discs you selected.

Choose Potentials for the interaction you are using

A build needs a reason for its Potential choices. In Maygii’s original Chitose analysis, the auto-attack setup uses Serpent’s Glide and Mirror Blade as cores, while Teresa’s Let Me Help amplifies the relevant attack type. The guide also describes a skill-focused alternative. That historical example shows why a teammate’s buff and the damage type of the carry need to agree; it is not a claim that the old auto-attack setup remains best after later buffs.

Use the same reasoning when reviewing a preset: identify the effect that makes the team function, preserve its required partners and trigger conditions, and only then substitute optional choices. Replacing a required enabler with an unrelated high-rarity Trekker is not a like-for-like substitution.

Save for the outcome the mode asks for

For an encounter, care about whether the buffs reach the target, the team’s damage type and the enemy’s stated vulnerabilities. For a Record-submission event, care about the goal’s actual eligibility conditions. The official Call for Best Records notice explicitly asks for Records matching the listed goals; it does not say that the highest-numbered Record always qualifies.

Mobile_Adeptness_577’s original Record-scoring post deliberately separates earning more score from making an optimal combat build. Extra notes and Harmony levels can help its score objective, while a combat build may need a specific Potential first. Decide which outcome you need before spending a run’s resources.

The Runic Disc slot guide separates the effects that Main and Support slots actually provide.
